I started this list last Thanksgiving. I had/have not jumped on the super mom train where you have the kids’ outfits weeks in advance and was looking for the perfect Thanksgiving outfit for my tiny intern the week of Thanksgiving. I had no idea where to look beyond my two or three go-to stores! A Google search for Houston children’s clothing stores didn’t give me much of a list so I created my own. Since you may have a baby or know someone having a baby in this apparent baby boom era, I thought I would share it with you!

I love Gymboree, Nordstrom, and Janie and Jack and the like but am focusing this list on homegrown Houston boutiques. Click through to see if your favorite is on the list (and please comment below if it’s not!)!

Houston Children’s Clothing Stores

I had a chance to visit many of these stores and I’m impressed and pleased to say that while there is some brand overlap between the stores, each store has it’s own featured brands and style. I won’t list all the brands here, you’ll have to see for yourself! ;-)

Galleria Area

Berings

The children’s section at Berings is so sweet. This is my first stop for any heirloom, christening, or newborn items. They have a good selection of preppy clothes up for the older littles as well. Additional location on Bissonnet.

Mint
Closed Sundays

I didn’t have a chance to go in but I love this precious rosette dress and denim jacket!

I walked into this store for the first time this past weekend. So adorable! Not only does she feature some great brands you know but she has many local designers in store as well. You have to swing by on April 2nd! Debbie Porter, a well-known local photographer, has written and illustrated a children’s book and will be on-hand for a book reading and signing!

Humble

Kids Apparel and Beyond
Closed Sundays

Consider Kids Apparel and Beyond to be your Mud Pie, Rare Editions, and Bonnie Bean mecca. Seriously, if there is a style you are looking for from one of those brands, there is a great chance she has it! The owner started her business on eBay, which is how I found her when I was searching the city for holiday adorableness for my little one.

Memorial

Sweet Bambini

I know there are more in the Memorial area! Please tell me your neighborhood favorites in the comments!

Northwest

Rattle Tattle
Freckles

Resale

Thread (Heights)

Super cute store on 19th street. I scored some adorable pink boots for my tiny intern and a MAJOR find on a custom mobile you’ve probably all seen on Pinterest.

Kid to Kid (Galleria)
Once Upon a Child (outer neighborhoods – all the way around!)

Children’s Collections (Bellaire)

Word on the street is she picks the best of the best here so you know items will be in excellent used condition.

Rice Village

Doodle’s
Closed Sunday

What I appreciate the most about Doodle’s beyond their excellent collection of clothing is their ridiculous bow collection! I have been looking for small bows and have had the darnedest time. Problem solved!

Purple Mango

Great international brands and the best shoe selection I saw in the boutiques I had a chance to visit.

Isabel et Noa

River Oaks

A’ Bientot
Closed Sundays

Primarily a women’s clothing store, they have a cute little room in the back with sweet baby gifts and clothes.

Upper Kirby

Kuhl-Linscomb

You know I’m a huge fan of this gift mecca! Some friends introduced me to it several years ago and it’s a go-to for the gift giving every time. They have a fun children’s section with primarily toys but they do have a few clothing items. Couldn’t help it, had to mention them.

Itsy Bitsy

Woodlands

Teacups and Tadpoles
Closed Sundays

Walking Tots
Closed Sundays

Word on the street is their customer service is excellent!
