Signature Style is SIX!! I’m celebrating with a recap of our much delayed (thank you Hurricane Harvey) five-year anniversary celebration. 😊 I could not have asked for a better event and I have the exceptional photos to prove it thanks to Ailee with Snapshots and My Thoughts.
Consider this the longest Thank You Note ever, a recommendations list of vendors I’m a huge fan of, and a celebration of one of my proudest accomplishments – through the silent auction we raised enough to complete fund 24 kids’ clubfoot treatment. 24 lives completely changed because of the generosity of my friends and clients. My original goal of funding five kids (for Signature Style’s five years) and my not-so-secret stretch goal of 15 were completely blown out of the water. I’m overwhelmed. Thank you.

Five Year Anniversary Celebration
This party was all about three things – celebrating the friends, family, friendors, and clients who have supported Signature Style these last five (six!) years, showcasing the winners of the makeover contest, and raising money for Cure International Clubfoot to help kids like Anna who don’t have access to treatment. It was a great big celebration and love fest and I could not have been more grateful.
All great parties, especially company events, start with two behind-the-scenes people who make it all come together. The event planner and whoever is responsible for producing all the visual elements, in this case, Samantha Gieske with Plan Our Day Houston and Lynsey Jones with L. Creative.
Event Planners are Amazing
I’ve hosted truly hundreds of parties between my own home and my mom’s and have done it event planner free. We didn’t even have a planner for our 300-person wedding THAT MY MOM catered. LOL. Samantha literally just choked on her coffee. I’m sorry wedding guests of our 2004 nuptials who were parched because the fruit clogged the champagne fountain and no knew it until much, much later.
Samantha was such a huge help. I had no idea how much having an event planner helped until she was on board. She’s my kind of style too. Kind, professional, detail-oriented, and she means business. If she says xyz is getting done, xyz is getting done. It was awesome to see how well-respected she was with the vendors we worked with as well. Which I cannot even tell you how much time, energy, and sanity she saved me in finding the perfect, on-brand vendors for the party. Thanks to all of her pre-work and the best women ever who came and helped set up, we were ready, completely dressed, and actually had time to take a photo BEFORE the party has started. This has NEVER happened before. Lol. Thank you Samantha!
Branding Experts Show the Signature
I’m so grateful to have talented creative professionals in my circle. Lynsey truly carried the branding of the evening with her visual elements and slide show for the makeover reveal presentation. She was an absolute dream to work with, met every deadlines, perfectly captured my brand and the vibe I was going for, and is just a kind-hearted woman that I enjoyed working with! Being in the business of branding makes it hard to say yes to help and I’m so, so glad I did. Not only did Lynsey put together content far better than I could have but she saved me the heartache of being up til all hours the night before trying to get the content to a mildly presentable state. Thank you Lynsey for making sure Signature Style’s signature was all over the venue and visuals!
Food
Central Market Catering catered the event, half of which was generously donated by them, and seriously I would do that a hundred more times. A friend told me about Central Market catering (thank you Mollie!) and I was so impressed. They were an absolute dream to work with. Not only is the catering staff knowledgeable and helped walk me through the best possible menu for the event, but it was so stinking easy it was ridiculous. Their follow-up is commendable, pick-up was a breeze, the food was plated stylishly and ready to serve, and the only problem was that some of the food was so good we ran out of a few dishes a little too quickly.
If you have a neighborhood dinner, company event, or just because party coming up – you won’t be sorry you decided to clear something off your party ToDo list and have Central Market cater. Act surprised when you come to my house and see this same deliciousness at our next dinner party.
Florals
I have such talented friends. When I chatted with Anne from Muddy’s Garden about the colors and what specific style I was going for she immediately knew what flowers would be best and I could not be happier with how her creations turned out.
Music
We all know the effects of a good DJ on a party but I have a whole new appreciation for the art after our event. They are truly the conductors of the people. Despite my not giving a whole lot of clear direction on specific songs but speaking more to style of the party and people, Lewis with LG Entertainment exceeded expectations. My favorite moment being this one moment in the party where he used the music to move the crowd to a different part of the venue. I don’t recall a single song played but always felt like the perfect song was playing for the moment. Which as a lyric girl, I really appreciate. 😉
Makeover Reveal
Revealing the makeover winners is one of my favorite parts of this event. We did it to celebrate one-year and were thrilled to bring it back for year five. I’m a teary mess recounting all the fun, love, and most of all lives impacted as a result of this incredible community that I get to be a part of every day. I know I’ve already said it a dozen times but it’s worth repeating – I have the best clients and supporters of Signature Style.
I loved getting to celebrate with everyone and my words-of-affirmation loving heart so appreciated all the thoughtful notes those who couldn’t come sent over. Friends that were there before, in the beginning, at the first anniversary party, and one of the winners from five years ago came too!
