The temps are already heating up here in Houston. That means you want to throw on one piece that works on it’s own without a ton of layers to finish it out. From recent shopping trips and exercising in the mall with my tiny intern here are some not-so-basic tees to add to your wardrobe!
Friday Finds: Not Your Basic Tees
I love everything about this tee. The thin-set stripes, the v-neck, length, and sleeve size/length are so flattering. There is a chance I wore it nearly everyday the first week I bought it.
Ya’ll, don’t hate me but I can’t find this Armani Exchange tee online. I can’t help it though, I have to show you – it’s just too cool! Love the zipper and epaulette-esque detail. These two black stripes run the length of the back as well.
This metallic tee is so much more interesting in person! Pair with a black maxi and statement earrings, a cropped denim jacket and white skinnies, or dress up a pair of olive green shorts. Now I’ve convinced myself I need this tee too! ;-)
Stepping up the basic tee, this tee comes with a flattering v-neck, cuffs, and a shirttail hem. Plus it’s available in no less than a dozen colors (listed separately by color family – brights, pastels)!
Who couldn’t benefit from a little shirring to help counter bumps and last night’s fajitas? This shirred tee comes in 24 (!) colors with a few prints thrown in for good measure. Order a size up if going for a roomier fit. Bonus: It’s 30% off if you buy two!
Shopping Tip: Tissue tees are intended to fit a bit looser than a typical fitted tee so keep that in mind when ordering.
Style Tip: If the thin material makes you nervous consider layering a more fitted, basic tee underneath to help smooth and give a bit more structure to the fabric.
